Red Afternoon
05:25
|
|||
My my, would you look at the sky?
A Kerouac red afternoon goes by.
Over the east, I see my youth.
Out in the west, it’s brand new.
Time goes by too slow at night.
So I go to you.
I slip under a blanket of nostalgia.
I can feel the warmth of a fire.
I remember the sound of a choir.
It wraps me up so tight I cannot breathe.
Now I just want to live in memories.
Some days, I’m a bird in a cage.
Trapped by thoughts and fears and too much pain.
One day, the door will open but I won’t move.
This is what I know and it’ll do.
So, I slip under a blanket of nostalgia
And I can feel the warmth of a fire.
I remember the sound of a choir.
It wraps me up so tight I cannot breathe.
Now I just want to live in memories.
Time goes by too slow at night.
So I go to you.

Brooklyn In The Rain
03:00
|
|||
Washed out street
A broken week
And I’m crawling through the creases in my mind.
You took a trip
A minor slip
Now the company you keep is changing all the time.
The bridge has always been there
The crowds remain the same
We took the high line not Brooklyn in the rain.
We took the high line not Brooklyn in the rain.
You came through
I did too
I was all alone and powerless to find you.
Mistakes we made
Will they fade?
Or will they live with us until our time is through?
The bridge has always been there.
The crowds remain the same.
We took the high line not Brooklyn in the rain.
We took the high line not Brooklyn in the rain.

A Year
05:48
|
|||
It’s been a year of long cold silence from you.
No cuts through the ties
You just set them on fire from your side.
Time goes by, now I fly.
Once blinded by the hope of mutual respect,
Now the truth and the lies
Are revealed in a blinding white light.
Time goes by, now I fly.
At first I was hurt by you and questioned myself.
Now I’ve realised
I have stronger bridges and binds.
Time goes by, now I fly.
Had blues for a while but smiles returned to my face
Still wondering why
You decided to start the fire.
Well time’s gone by, now I fly.
Mmmm I wonder if you feel like me,
Mmmm I can finally breathe, I feel free.

Pink Room
03:57
|
|||
What’s left, to keep my feet upon the earth?
Our pink room reading time and fire is all I need.
Familial love, clear to find and hard to lose,
but it seems I tried to find a way.
I learn slowly,
I need time,
London’s loud,
I’ll be home by nine,
I’ll be home by nine to you.
You’ve left,
a lifetime’s brace of homely arms.
I like it when you say you’re proud.
And with people pushing me around,
you lay a blanket while we watch the T.V screen.
I get lonely,
all the time,
London’s loud,
I’ll be home by nine.
I’ll be home by nine to you.
I’ll pay wholly,
line by line.
Always know,
I’ll be home by nine.
I’ll be home by nine to you.
